At 12,400 feet, Bear Lake lies 3 miles past Anglemeyer Lake behind Mt. Columbia. This 11-mile round-trip hike is not an easy one, but those willing to make the trek will be rewarded with stunning alpine views and phenomenal fishing for cutthroat trout.

Current Conditions

Should be getting free of ice, but with the location of this lake, it could be iced over until early July... Be aware of afternoon storms at this elevation, and watch for spawning fish. Otherwise, have at it!
